Galloway

The first Galloways were imported to the north Moravia in 1991. This area became a centre of Galloway herds in the Czech republic. After 1993 the breed was spread also into the other parts of the country, currently the most widespread is in Šumava´ forest. Firstly imported animals were black-coloured, after 1998 also other colour varieties like white-park, belted or dun have been introduced. Different hair colouring, but also attractive exterior and perfect accommodation to Czech climate conditions ensure to Galloway a good future. High-quality meat, but poorer growth ability predestine the breed for unconventional realisation of beef.
